A positive person will always believe that any setbacks/hardships/challenges in life will offer new lessons for improvement to oneself.
Someone once said that we cannot control what happens around us but we can choose how to response to it. So, to live longer and healthier, start with the mind first. Even a dying cancer patient who has a positive mind will most certainly outlive another cancer patient who has a negative mind...think about that! Life and death surely lies in the mind!

thanks wt for the comment, although it is kinda old post already, but you've just got some points right.

i believe the evaluation among employees is important for all the companies for better growth, and no doubt, this does look a little bit as they did not want to be evaluated...

anyway, everyone has their own choice of belief, but i do back your points.

and thanks for commenting.

i remembered seeing the strikes and them lining up in front of menara maybank. i heard from some of my maybank friends that they were unhappy over the original (2months?) bonus given to them and the standard increments. however, the BIGGEST shocker for me was, their demand of more bonus WITHOUT a performance appraisal.

it was offered to them, to be given bonuses and increments based on their performance and from what i heard, it could go up very high if their performance was good. a case not wanting to be evaluated based on performance because they were not performing?

think about it: how was the level of service based on your last visit to maybank?

if i have nothing to fear and i know that i have a good performance, i would request to be evaluated!

That is what most employers are looking for...staff with good attitute rather than aptitude. Somebody once told me that it's harder to teach a person to have good attitude than teach them technical skills.
So, imagine how far one can go in an organisation/life if one possess both excellent attitude and aptitude.

Am sure we all know that it's good to learn swimming when we are young (the sooner the better) and one of the reasons is children do not have fear of drowning. I realised this as I only learned swimming when I was around 16 years old. As one get older, it's harder for us to learn new skills or sports or even try new things/venture as there is always the fear that we cannot do it, others will laugh at us/criticise us, we will look silly etc.
Remember, it's never too late to start any business, study for a degree/MBA, learn a skill/language, try new things in life.....Colonel Sanders of KFC started his business when is over 60 years old!
